WHAT?

The word crystal is derived from the Greek word "krystallos" which translates to "ice".

All crystals have in common an extremely well-organized molecular structure.  In crystals, all of the atoms (or ions) are arranged in a regular grid pattern, which maintain a precise frequency.

WHY?

Crystals have a particular vibration and frequency which arise from their molecular composition.  They act as a transmitter and amplifier of healing energy.  They can be used to balance the chakras, for alternative healing, and in watches, radios, iphones and computers as they are very accurate.  If you need to go to a higher vibrational level, frequencies in crystals will help.

WHEN?

Origins date back to Plato's account of Atlantis in which crystal healing is mentioned.  The Ancient Sumerians (c. 4500 to 2000 BC) documented the use of crystals in magical formulas.  In 1880, French physicist Pierre Curie discovered that putting pressure on various crystal (including topaz, tourmaline and quartz) created electricity.  This phenomenon is called the Piezoelectric effect.

HOW?

Our bodies are dynamic, electomagnetic organisms - we have physical, emotional, mental and spiritual energy flowing through us all the time.  Crystals can be used in numerous ways;  holding them, having them nearby, consuming water they have been immersed in, and meditating with them.

Based on Vogels work 4 sided crystals are for healing physical ailments, 6 sided crystals for healing emotional ailments, 8 sided crystals for sever emotional trauma, 13 sided crystals used in meditation to connect with past lives.

WHO?

• Marcel Vogel born in 1917 was a research scientist working at the IBM San Jose Research Centre known for liquid crystal systems, luminescene and magnetics.  He utilized quartz crystal for therapeutic purposes, and designed the Vogel-cut crystal.  He investigated the relationship between crystals and water, and discovered that he could structure water by spinning it around a tuned crystal, altering many of the characteristics of the water and converting it into an information storage system.

• His experiments inspired Dr Emoto's study of water, and the effects of thoughts on the molecular structure.
